Most Impressive!

(11 Dec. 2011)

In just about everything, there comes a point at which a big enough failure becomes SO big, displays such an unprecedented lack of judgment, becomes so truly insurmountably STUPID, that it comes full circle. The sheer magnitude of FAIL blows right past every level of stupid until it ultimately lands squarely in 'impressive'. A guy who tries to commit a robbery in full view of the cops is an idiot; a guy who tries to commit a robbery in full view of the cops because he intended to rob a police station has blown right past 'EPIC FAIL' and become so stupid it's actually impressive.

Likewise, people who accidentally drive their cars into buildings (and I still can't believe this is plural--that any more than a single person in automotive history has actually driven their car into a BUILDING) are amazingly stupid.

But someone who manages not only to drive their car into a house but hits the second floor of the house? Well, it's still stupid but at that point you just kind of have to sit back and go, "Damn. Wow. Nice work. That's an astoundingly impressive misapplication of judgment there. Well done."
